Cupping is one of the treatment methods in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). A partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of heat or suction. This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed, and localised healing takes place. It has a similar effect to deep tissue massage. Scientific research indicates that Cupping could affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, which helps blood circulation and causes tissues to release toxins, activates the lymphatic / immune system, and clears colon blockages.

Cupping is normally used with acupuncture or massage to help sports injuries, muscular tensions, or cold etc.
